Bravelle®, also known as urofollitropin, is a fertility drug prescribed for women who need medical help to get pregnant. It is a prescription medication that contains hormones that help stimulate healthy ovaries to produce eggs.
In October 2015, Bravelle’s® manufacturer, Ferring Pharmaceuticals Inc., voluntarily issued a recall for the medication after discovering problems associated with it’s effectiveness. As a result, patients undergoing fertility treatment were advised of the recall and have begun filing lawsuits against the manufacturer in order to recover the costs of their failed Bravelle® treatments.
Ferring Pharmaceuticals Inc. has established a reimbursement program for patients who purchased Bravelle® during the time the ineffective lot of medication were sold, between March 27, 2014 and October 15, 2015.
A number of women have claimed that Bravelle did not work and have argued that they are owed money beyond the reimbursement Ferring is offering patients. If you used Bravelle between March 2014 and October 2015, it’s possible that you may be able to file a lawsuit against the company to recover compensation for costs related to the IVF treatments – not just the failed hormone injections. See our Lawsuits page for information on the lawsuits that have been settled and those still pending, as well as details on what you need to do if you have been injured and believe you may have a claim.
Women who seek medical treatments for fertility issues often undergo a burdensome process, both financially and emotionally. Women who were affected by Bravelle’s® recall not only subjected themselves unknowingly to an ineffective treatment, but also placed themselves at risk to the serious side effects associated with fertility treatment.

If you were affected by Bravelle’s® recall, you may be entitled to compensation. Recovery may include past and future medical bills, lost wages, diminished quality of life, and pain and suffering.
